Meet The Asatiani Partners
David Asatiani

Founding Partner
David Asatiani founded the law firm Asatiani Law Partners in 2005 and is still its founding partner. He was a member of the Executive Board of the Georgian Bar Association in 2006-2010 and 2013-2017. At the same time he served as an International Secretary of the Georgian Bar Association. In 2008-2017 David was a representative of the Bar Association to the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE). As for 2010-2017, he was a Chairman of the Working Groups of Judges, Lawyers and Prosecutors.
As a member of the Constitutional Commission, in 2017, David Asatiani was actively involved in the process of drafting a new Constitution of Georgia; in 2012-2013 he was a member and Chairman of the Coalition for an Independent and Transparent Judiciary. In 2009-2013 he was the founder and chairman of the NGO Georgian Lawyers for Independent Profession (GLIP). David Asatiani has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association since its foundation in 2005. In 1998-2005 he was a senior lawyer at various law firms and in 2012 he became a CEDR accredited mediator.
In 1997 David Asatiani graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations, specializing in International Law; David completed his postgraduate studies at Tbilisi State University in 2001 and back in 1995 he also graduated from the Tbilisi Institute of Law and Economics. David has received extensive professional experience in organization and functioning of the justice system and legal profession in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, etc.
David is proficient in Georgian, Russian and English languages.
George Katamadze

Managing Director
He is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the Law Firm and in particular client relations, contracts and settlements.
George is an expert in property law and has an excellent relationship with the public authorities to negotiate for and secure real-estate on behalf of clients, he is also the main point of contact for all issues relating to residence permits, visas and citizenship.
As an effective legal administrator George has been a key player in the legislative administration of Universities in Georgia ensuring that they meet the academic criteria that is necessary for them to operate to international standards.
Alongside his native Georgian George speaks fluent Russian and intermediate English.
Kate Andghuladze

Senior Lawyer
Kate is currently completing her Doctorate in Law and has extensive knowledge of European Intellectual Property Law, Mediation, Negotiation, Insolvency, International Comparative Law and completed training in Tartu, Ghent and Paris - she holds a Masters in Commercial Law.
Kate was a key member of the team who created environmental legislation in Georgia and remains active as a major advocate of green policy and the proper enforcement of the law with regards to green issues in Georgia.
Speaking fluent Georgian, English and Russian and Intermediate German Kate is an effective communicator and able to represent clients interests with nuance and confidence.
Paul Abaiadze

Counsel
With experience in high-profile fraud and economic crime cases, Paul has an eye for detail and is highly proficient in representing clients in court. He also acts on behalf of clients who have cases brought against them by the Prosecutors Office of the State of Georgia.
As a defence lawyer Paul acts on behalf of both employees and employers in labour law cases depending on the circumstances of the dispute.
Paul speaks fluent Russian and basic English.
Zurab Zhividze

Counsel
Previously in his career he was responsible for drafting government bills and legislation and this knowledge is not particularly useful when pursuing claims on behalf of clients.
As an administrative expert Zurab was a member of the panel responsible for the implementation of international legal standards in Georgia in relation to Environmental Law as set out by the United Nations.
Zurab holds a licence to defend clients in proceedings that involve aspects of criminal law which may occur in the case of some commercial disputes.
Alongside his native Georgian Zurab speaks fluent Russian and intermediate French
Tamar Matchavariani

Counsel
Tamar acts as a trademark lawyer and is an expert in the application of intellectual property law, she holds a notary licence and has also worked in the Georgian Public Registry.
With her experience in commercial law she is able to advise on all matters relating to company formation and to ensure complete legal compliance.
Tamar speaks Georgian and Russian.
